"Last Nite" delivers a tattered rememberance of an evening best left forgotten. The Strokes never say what happened, but hints and suggestion do plenty to convey the meaning. The clever half-familiar one liners build to this [Oxymoron]: It would seem that the goal unreached in this relationship is escape, rather than the usual recognition.
